I once made a post title "The new age of gaming: it sucks"
and that generated quite a bit of hate... well I stand by it so haters.. screw you! ;)
BUT... this article here says what I ment to say a million times better, read it!
heres an exert of the article
"The competition has turned into combat, and we are starting to see the results. Instead of quality, we are getting quantity. Instead of gameplay, we are getting graphics. All balance has been thrown out the window, for what was once a friendly competition has turned into a war, and war requires money. The gaming companies have been provoked to such a state that all they see is their potential demise. They see the screaming opposition, and grow fearful. The healthy opposing fanbase has turned into a plague of spiteful warmongers."

CHAPteam
CHAPteam will be a group I can call upon to help me review a game that either doesnt have a server list or is not very active. Members will then either find and join a server together or use Hamachi to create a virtual lan server between us. I'm hoping to get a minimum of 6 players, but the more the merrier. Then we will discuss the game together and these opinions will be in the review :)

If it wasnt for freeware....
I have all but sworn off commercial pc games...
Case 1: Terminator War of the machines:
My brother buys this, but he never plays online so he lets me install it to try online, The game is basically Battlefield with terminator in it, btw... I log in and... "Your cd key is already in use"... after contacting the developers I got no results and have never once played this game online...
Case 2: Unreal Tournament 2k4:
I've been playing this game for atleast a year, the mods are even better. however i eventually need space to install something else and uninstall this game... a few months later i miss the game and reinstall "Your Serial key has been blocked from playing online". After contacting support they say that I hacked the game and they blocked me themselves... I magically logged on with a hack while it was uninstalled off my harddisk... from this point on I never bought another Atari game again, and i do not intend to after an insult like that.
Case 3: Star Wars Battlefront
I'm a huge star wars geek and after hearing that Battlefront 3 was cancelled i felt guilty for never playing the first 2.. so i bought 1. installed played some single player and logged online.... "your cd key is not authorized to play online"
oh god not again... After 5 days of explaining that I definetly put in the serial key correctly.. yes i know they are all lowercase.. yes i know that 1 might look like an l but is actually a 1.... yes i did purchase it new and not used.... they basically said " oh sorry theres nothing we can do"
If it wasnt for freeware gaming i'd have sworn off pc gaming for good by now...
Btw new ep is practically finished jsut a little more editing to do when im not feeling lazy

Go to hell Dungeon Maker!
ok, first of all, I'd like to say that I am a huge Wii and Ds fan, I am NOT a nintendo fanboy, but I just really like the consoles. HOWEVER I get rather angry when I hear people ignorantly refer to them as kiddie consoles....
Anyway my brother has Dungeon Maker on psp, its a pretty cool game that mixes elements of Dungeon Master and Diablo, basically you build a dungeon, it gets populated by monsters, you go in and hunt monsters... sounds fun? it is.. it's got a cool serious themed look to it, and the combat is like I said, Diablo style (i.e. realtime)
Sooo.. I find out this game is coming to ds.. this gets me excited.. it's out.. so I get my hands on it, lucky me. Now the boxart has me worried, its all anime and childish. I like neither. It doesnt matter too much, theres plenty of crappy looking games that are great fun so I start playing. Oh god help me... the story is terrible and so obviously directed to children... but not just children, retarded children. But again, I dont care, I just want to build dungoens and Diablo crawl them (I just invented that term, yay me, it means dungeon crawl in Diablo style :) )
Soo.. I'm in town.. the interface is kinda like that of the original psp version, just colorful and all the shopkeepers are little girls begging to be tenticle raped, not too bad. Once all the parts are purchased I'm off to the cave to start building my dungeon! Again, the anime look kinda gets to me, but its actually not that bad.. the gameplay so far feels right.. I walk to a wall, dig at it, and form a room, keep digging and form a hallway.. put in some furniture to make it a specific type of room to attract monsters the next day... ok I'm going to enjoy this I think!!
Done building, I run out of energy so I rest for the day.. next day comes and I'm eager to Diablo crawl my dungeon! So I quickly get my shopping out of the day and rush off to the rooms where the monsters should be.. oh look some sort of bat! yay! wait a second.. whats my attack button? perhaps when I engage a tutorial will tell me, so I run at the bat.. then it happens.. my character stands still, the bat flys into me and a turn based battle is engaged... WHAT?! wheres my bloody diablo crawling?!
anyway I would have plenty of swearing and cursing to do if i hadnt already vented out on a friend (thanks leero applewuss!!) so I'll spare you. but basically I'm pissed off that the company behind the ds version of Dungeon maker would go trough such efforts to actually make the ds version childish and crappy! dont get me wrong I like turn based combat but it's not for this game.. this was meant to be a Diablo crawl!! It's games like this that give the sony fanboys and general nintendo haters ammo when they want to say the wii and ds are kiddie consoles.. DAMN YOU!!!
